Aishwarya Sakhuja rose to fame with Toasty in Sony’s Saas Bina Sasural. Her character is a perfect blend of emotions and practicality. Aishwarya is sexy, hot and has many fans who love her work and dedication. In real life, Aishwarya was quite practical till she started playing Toasty. Now she is emotional and very affectionate by nature. In an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar.com, Aishwarya Sakhuja shares her personal and professional life. Excerpts: It has been more than a year since you have been playing the role of Toasty. Aren’t you bored or still happy with the character? Initially, I was reluctant to take up the role as it was way too positive. But Vipul D Shah of Optimystix sat with me and convinced me about the role and its prospects. Now I am happy playing Toasty as I have learnt a lot and the experience has been enriching. You were an anchor before becoming an actor. Why the sudden shift? Well, when Sony called me for auditions I thought they wanted me to host Comedy Circus. But later I found out I was auditioning for a daily soap. But to my amazement, I did well and the liked my work. That is how it all began. Toasty has made you famous. Your comments… I am very happy with the fact that my character has been liked by the masses. People recognize me now. All this love and appreciation motivates me to work better and harder in life. How is your equation with co-star Ravi Dubey? Initially, we both were very uncomfortable with each other. I am introvert by nature and take time to open up. But we shoot for almost 20 days a month. So finally we opened up and now we are best of friends. What about other actors in the show? I stay alone in the city as my brother and father are settled in Delhi. So I treat my set as a second home. I always take advices from Rajendra Chawla, who plays my brother-in-law in the show. When it comes to consolation, I go to Anandilal Chaturvedi, who plays my Dadaji, as he is the right person. Are you in a relationship? I was. Just like everybody else, but now it is all about me. And if at all I am seeing someone, I don’t think I will tell you guys (laughs). Are you insecure as an actor? No, I am not. I know my job and try to grow in it. I am never content with what I do. I don’t allow fame to dominate my senses. When you think you are famous, insecurities start eating your head. So I always take things positively and try to be down to earth. Tell us something that nobody knows about Aishwarya Sakhuja… You will not believe but I have an exceptionally large foot. The size of my foot is ten and I have great difficulty finding the right pair of shoes, sandals or chappals. I usually have to purchase them from abroad. What next after Saas Bina Sasural? As of now, nothing else. Offers do come but right now I am focusing on Saas Bina Sasural. I just hope all my fans keep showering me with love and affection in the future as well.
