Shivin Narang, who won million hearts as Yuvraj with his debut show Suvreen Guggal- Topper of The Year not only managed to impress his young viewers, but also won over some industry experts. As last weekend his show pulled its curtain down, a new one started the coming Monday (25 November) proving the young boy’s talent and popularity. Yes, Shivin is now playing the lead as Ranvijay in Star Plus' Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera post the 15-year leap. This Yash Patnaik Production will see Shivin take up the popular role made immortal by talented child artiste Bhavesh Balchandani. Talking to Tellychakkar.com, Shivin shares his thoughts about his new show and the expectations that have been heaped on him. Read on… How do you feel bagging this popular show? It is definitely a great feeling. It's not every day that you get to do such an author-backed role and especially on TV. I am still trying to get the feel of this beautiful character and working hard to give all my efforts to carry this show to greater heights. I am thankful to the producer as well as the director who are helping me out. I am sure that with such a talented team, we are going to rock (smiles). Since Bhavesh has already made the character of Rannvijay one to remember, is it a burden on you to play it well? I know people will be prying on me all along (laughs). But to be honest, I seriously have no qualms about it. The character has been very popular and appreciated and I am sure people will expect me to play it the same way. But I want to clear that I am not replacing Bhavesh; I will be just taking the character forward. It is a challenge for sure, but I will try my level best to fulfill the expectations of the viewers. And I must like to add that the equation between Veera and Ranvi (Ranvijay) will be the same, only their faces will change. How much do you relate to Ranvi's character? Ranvi is a very special boy who has faced loads of challenges as a child. With so many issues in his family, he had to grow up very soon. As a child he was very mature and those qualities have all made him the person he is today. He is kind of serious and introvert with strangers but when it comes to his closed ones, he is a fun guy. And like Ranvi even I am emotional and shy. How difficult was it for you to jump from Yuvraj to Ranvi? I did shoot simultaneously for both the shows for some time and it was kind of difficult. While on one hand Ranvi is a simple village boy, on the other, Yuvraj is the flamboyant young modern guy. But thankfully, I didn't have to dabble with both for long. And now I am giving my 100 per cent to the show by getting into the skin of Ranvi and I must say playing such diverse character in such a short span is a great feeling (smiles). What do you have to say about the special relationship of Ranvi and Veera? This show has such a beautiful concept and describes the most special bond between a brother and his sister. He (Ranvi) had pleaded to God to give him a sister and with his mother hating her (Veera) he had taken it upon himself to bring her up. He has been not just a brother but loved and cared for her like a parent. For Ranvi, Veera is his world and he can go to any height to keep her happy. Their bonding is so pure and it has now grown with time. We have also heard you are bonding quite well with your on-screen sister. Tell us more on that. (Laughs) Yes, since me and Digangana (Suryavanshi) both do not have siblings it’s really nice to fill that vacuum with this show. Firstly it was very important to have that bonding so that it is well transcended on screen. See, since whenever a boy and girl come together, people tend to link them romantically. Even when you put pictures with your siblings you have to mention- 'with my sis/bro' so that people don't take it otherwise. So to have that chemistry of a brother-sister was very important for us. And since we managed to bond well off-screen, it is coming out beautifully on screen and I hope all siblings can relate with us. You’ve also shot some sequences in Delhi. How was the feeling to go back in your own city? I got really excited when I got to know that we will be shooting in Delhi. You can imagine how special the feeling is to start your new show from the place you belong to. When we visited Chandni Chowk, a rush of beautiful memories came by me. Sadly, since we had a very tight schedule, I hardly got time to go home and be with my family or friends; but it definitely was a great experience. Finally, any message you want to share with your fans? I would like to ask all my fans to continue showering their love on me as they have been doing so all these days. Your Yuvraj has just got a new show and he needs all your blessings and good wishes. And a special request to Veera’s fans to accept me as the grown up Ranvi and offer their continuous support to me.
