Ratan Ka Rishta Swayamvar 3 that was to happen on Imagine by February-end soon after Zor Ka Jhatka seems to have been pushed further. Imagine brought in Shaadi 3 Crore Ki that replaced Zor Ka Jhatka but now there are two fiction shows Beend Banunga Ghodi Chadunga and Luteri Dulhan which will follow Shaadi pushing Ratan Ka Rishta away till IPL. But we didn’t waste any time chatting with the bride- to-be. Ratan has no qualms about her Swayamvar being delayed as she says, “I have no idea when it’s beginning. As of now the producers have asked me to rest and I think I need it too. I am too tired of having worked for three years without a break I think I deserve to rest now. I am enjoying this time and I am happy about it.” Everyone was shocked to know that Ratan had decided to get married at the peak of her career but she says she always knew she wanted to get married as she says, “I have had this craze of getting married ever since I was a kid. If it had to not be for this show I would have still got married.” About having a relationship she says, “If I really had one I would have settled by now. But, yes I wouldn’t deny the fact I have got a lot of proposals.” When asked about her relationship with Vikas Gupta that was much-talked about she says, “We are very good friends.” Ratan’s decision to get married on the show was not hers alone. It was only after she got the green signal from her parents that she agreed to this as she says, “It took me quite some time to decide on it as it was not a show. I was to get married hence, my family’s approval was important. I spoke to my parents about it and so did the production people. They did not handle it like a project rather they made it a family thing. They went to my parents asking for my rishta and it did take some time for my parents to decide on this. My family is very simple and when they were told I would have a swayamvar the only worry that my dada had was how would he accommodate so many men and that the wedding would take a lot of money. But, the production people explained to him the entire concept and he told me if I was fine with it I could do it.” There was a buzz that the producers of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo (which was on-going then) were unhappy with this sudden development as Ratan had not informed anyone about it. Ratan clears the air saying, “It’s not that I took up Imagine’s proposal while Agle Janam was still going on. It was always going to happen after the show went off air. And, I did not want to share the news because it was about my marriage, something happening in my personal life. It is not that I have denied it but there are a few things you are asked to keep confidential because of the terms and conditions of a particular channel and you cannot violate them. My producers of Agle Janam have been very caring and I like them. We have been like a family and they did not have any issues.” The show has had two seasons of Swayamvar earlier where Rahul Mahajan did get married but Rakhi Sawant did not. When questioned if we would actually see her getting married, she says, “I have taken this up because I want to get married. But, it’s going to be a journey and I cannot decide right now about what will happen there.” On her say in the groom selection she says, “I cannot tell you right now what I am looking for. You will have to see the swayamvar for it.” The actress has left the rest to the almighty as she does not believe in planning things as she says, “If you plan things you challenge the almighty and I’d never do that. So I have no idea what will I be doing after the Swayamvar.” Well, we are waiting too.
