I would never marry a TV actor Shweta Gulati

The petite Shweta Gulati is one actress who believes in doing things her way. She has always stayed away from saas bahu soaps yet managed to get a foothold in the TV industry. She will be seen hosting the reality dance show Zara Nachke Dikha along side Karan Singh Grover on Star One that goes on air tonight. This forthright actress speaks direct from the heart in an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar. From working in a call centre to acting what was the journey like?

She will be seen hosting the reality dance show Zara Nachke Dikha along side Karan Singh Grover on Star One that goes on air tonight. This forthright actress speaks direct from the heart in an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar. From working in a call centre to acting what was the journey like? I had never thought that I would become an actress. It feels great to be recognized. My younger sister is studying in London. She came across a London magazine that had my picture in it. She got so excited that she was showing that picture to all her friends saying “look she is my sister.” Most TV actresses play older roles. You are the only one to play characters younger than your real age. Comment. I take that as a compliment. I am fortunate to look younger than my age. Every girl is worried about looking older whereas I don’t have to bother about my age. Besides, I wouldn’t even take up older roles. You are always seen in western clothes. Are you uncomfortable wearing Indian clothes? In fact I feel that I look my best in a sari. I am equally comfortable in Indian clothes but it is a conscious decision to avoid wearing Indian clothes on screen because I don’t want to be typed as a regular TV actress. What would be your dream role on TV? No role on TV has impressed me to an extent that I would consider it to be my dream role. The roles that I have got to play are some of the best roles that an actor can ever get. I have never played saas bahu kind of roles and to get roles other than these types is very difficult these days. I have managed to yet get an opportunity to do the roles that I wanted to. Coming to your show who is the most promising in the girl’s team? You are not allowed to take your name. I would say Swini (child actor). She is simply mind blowing. Her one liners keep all the adults stunned. Jennifer Winget is also my favourite. She is going to be a surprise package in this show. Is there any particular style that you are going to follow when hosting this show? Every one who knows me has told me that I should just be myself. Earlier I was thinking about following styles but now I am just going to be me on the show. The high school girl Tia that you played in Remix was highly appreciated. How was Shweta in her college days? I was too boring yaar. I kept sleeping throughout my college days. I was so lazy that I never got up early in the morning to attend college and whenever I got up early, I went to meet my boyfriend rather than going to college. I was also very quiet and the worst part is that my boyfriend was possessive, so I never really had fun in my college days. Where do you wish to see yourself five years from now? I see myself in a small house of my own, a loving husband and at least one kid. I am a person who doesn’t aspire much. I am happy with little things in my life. Do you have a boyfriend? Yes, I have someone very special in my life but I don’t want to reveal much about him. I can only going to say that he is not from the TV industry. So is marriage on the cards? You never know. Who is that one TV actor whom you wouldn’t mind getting married to? No one and I have no qualms saying this. I would never marry any actor from television. What do you plan to do after Zara Nachke Dikha? I never plan. I think I am going to spend time with my dogs. I am going to take them for a camping.
