People have an assumption that I can only play glamorous roles and I don’t wish to play bahu anymore: Hina Khan

Hina Khan

MUMBAI: It wouldn’t be exaggerating to say that Hina Khan is a powerhouse of talent with a gorgeous face to boot. She is immaculate, striking and an absolute charmer. Indian television industry has some of the most stunning actresses who pour allure into a narrative and one such diva is Hina!  There is no doubt that she is ferociously talented and impressed us as Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Of late, Hina is exploring the nonfiction space.

At a recently held event where lensmen were running helter-skelter to capture the beauty, away from the crowd we found a cosy corner for a quick chat with the diva.

“How are you, Hina? You look stunning like always,” we said.

“Thank you. Let’s begin...” she said with a smile.

We asked her what is keeping her busy these days, she shared, “I am just experimenting with different things, doing events, trying to look good and working out hard on my body.”

Does she have any plans to make a comeback soon on TV and this time will it be fiction or a reality show, we asked to which she replied, “Well, this time it will definitely be not a reality show since I have done a few back to back. As far as television is concerned, I was offered a couple of projects but they did not really interest me. I am not in a hurry to make a comeback and waiting for a good project. I know my fans want to see me back on TV but this time I am very particular that it has to be a performance based project.”

“Recently, I did a short film where I played a bahu who hails from UP. People have an assumption that I can only play glamorous roles and I don’t want to play the role of bahu anymore but that’s not true. I have reached that stage of my life where I feel I want to do good work and do justice to my character,” she added.

These days we are coming across to lot of TV couples getting hitched, so we asked what her plans are. “Not at all, it is definitely not happening for the next three years. I am concentrating on my career at the moment,” said the actress.

Since you and Rocky (Jaiswal) hail from different religion, do you face any kind of culture issues and are you up for all the changes post marriage. “Yes, marriage is a different ball game but we live in different century and all these things don’t really matter now. Whether it matters or not should be kept under the carpet.”

Talking about her interest in digital space, Hina added, “I am a big Netflix fan and I watch all their shows. Digital world is growing rapidly and I am loving the kind of content that is being made. If any good digital project comes my way I will surely take it up.”

Before bidding goodbye to us, Hina smilingly said, “Thank you, TellyChakkar and to all my lovely fans I would just like to say that sabr ka Phal Meetha hota hai...”

Good luck, Hina!
