Mazher Sayed and Rajesh Balwani are good friends of mine. Mazher was seen in Kahin Kisi Roz fame and Rajesh was a part of Banoo Main Teri Dulhan. Now, as a guest editor at Tellychakkar.com, I decided to chat with them and file an article. Hope you fans like my effort. Read on… Do you feel television lacks creativity today? Mazher: I think it does as there have to be a difference between fast food and proper dinner and lunch which is made. Television shows are like fast food, where they have to deliver the spice to the audience within a given time whereas, films have their own different way to add up spice and they have more time, so one be more creative. Rajesh: I will think the other way around. I think there is creativity in television as there are certain set of creatives who are sitting to make the story spicy in the given shorter span of time. There are shows like Balika Vadhu and certain SAB TV serials which have good storylines. What are the things you like about television? Mazher: I like television because we get to perform various characters. TV provides platform for actors to gain recognition and make a living. Who doesn’t want it? Rajesh: I like the fact that I am getting to act. Television has become really vast these days and there are varied characters to portray. We get more opportunities to work and earn money. So now turning on the other side, what are the things you don’t like about television? Mazher: You don’t get time to socialize and you don’t get time for your family. That’s not the case in case of films. There is fixed timeframe of working. We get certain time limit to complete the work and wind up for next project. Rajesh: Apart from not having time for yourself, the other worst thing I guess is once you do a TV show, people start asking why don’t you do films? As if someone stands outside a mall and distributes films. Tell us that one thing that you are scared of doing? Mazher: I am scared of ghost so I won’t be staying alone at any place. Rajesh: I would never do those things which would bring my family in trouble or put in any kind of an awkward position. Otherwise I am scared of bungee jumping and other similar scary activities. How did acting happen to both of you? Mazher: Since childhood I grew up thinking that I would become an actor, and I consider myself lucky as I am doing what I always wanted to do. Rajesh: I always wanted to be an actor, like Mazher, but the thing was I loved being an actor but I hated the process of being actor but ultimately I got into the stream and done it. Given a chance, which character would you like to portray from the current TV shows? Mazher: Unfortunately, I don’t watch much television but I would love to portray Karanvir Bohra’s character from Saubhagyvati Bhava. Rajesh: I would like to essay the character of Dadisa (Surekha Sikri) from Balika Vadhu and that of Ram Kapoor from Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. If you were a dish, what it would be? Mazher: I would like to be chocolate. Rajesh: I would like to be fruit salad. What are three idol qualities to become an actor? Mazher: Believe in yourself, Ye Aag Ka Darya Hai Kud Ke Jana Hai. One must have to go through a lot of failure… so guys don’t give up. Rajesh: Passion, skill to be an actor and utmost dedication towards work.
