You were last seen in the movie, Humari Adhuri Kahani and now you are back on television. What do you prefer?

Even though I have worked in movies I will always prefer television as I am strongly rooted to my base. I have already learnt a lot from television and I'm constantly learning. I also want to give back to it. I’m all the happier because I’m doing a show with my friend and adviser, Rashmi Sharma. I am really excited for it!

How did Bhagyalakshmi and &TV happen?

I have worked with Rashmi Sharma in the past and I totally trust her with any of her project. She is very creative and I admire her work a lot. &TV has launched with a bang and already doing so well in such a short span to give some of the best shows. So I chose Bhagyalaxmi trusting both these big brands - &TV and Rashmi Sharma. I am really very excited to work with the team of Bhagyalakshmi and be a part of this thrilling show!

Tell us something about your role in Bhagyalakshmi?

I play an aspiring Bhojpuri Actress – Pavitra in the show. The matriarch of the Prajapati family – BhabhiMaa (Aruna Irani) is Pavitra’s mother and she has hidden this truth from everyone. Because she is not accepted by her own mother, Pavitra has lived a life hating her mother and has now surfaced to take revenge by shaming her respected mother in front of the whole world.

You portray the role of an ambitious girl who wants to make it big in the Bhojpuri industry, how easy or difficult it is for you to relate to such a character?

It's been interesting so far. I see it as a big challenge because I have never ever done such a role. So even if there are difficult days I take them head on because I have always believed in experimenting with my roles because that's what keeps me motivated and excited about my work. I've mostly done roles that are positive or have shades of grey. Hence, I am really excited about this role in particular.

Does your character have any hidden motives or personal agenda on the show?

Yes. She does have an agenda and has come back for revenge. This is going to change the plot of the story in a very exciting way. My character Pavitra has lived a life like that of an orphan, even though her mother Bhabhi Maa is a well-respected individual in the society, and she wants to avenge her childhood that was lost in misery.

You have been introduced as a dancer; Aruna Irani who is also a part of this show is a famous yesteryears dancer. Will you take any tips from her for your role?

Yes, of course. I wouldn't pass the opportunity of learning anything I can from the legend herself. Arunaji has been such a wonderful and graceful dancer in her time. Being able to share the screen with her is an absolute delight! I have already started picking on her brains to give me tips. And I have tried implementing her suggestions and tips in my dance. I am really excited about it and I hope the audience likes my performance.

You have never been seen as a dancer on television, are you excited about it?

I am extremely excited about it and this is one of the many reasons why I chose this role too. It is so different, fresh, youthful and thrilling in its approach that I couldn’t resist it. I hope the television audience likes my role and performance and that I’m able to do justice to it.

The people in the Prajapati house are disciplinarians; do you have any strategy to break the ice?

My character is not here for breaking the ice but to give the story a different punch and create many problems.

Have you contributed to your look on the show?

Yes, I have made a few suggestions like adding the Kamarbandh (cummerbund) that I wear in one of the scenes. I wanted my character to look really attractive and perfect for the role. Hence, I put my heart and soul into getting the look right.

Is your character going to support Bhoomi and Ansh or create further trouble for them?

Like I mentioned before, my character is here to take revenge from the family, so Bhoomi and Ansh will have to face a lot of problems and bear a lot of pain with me around.

Any other projects that you are working on?

Currently, I want to focus solely on this role. I've never done this kind of a challenging role before so it will need all my attention to get the nuances right.

Way to go girl!!!!
