Sreejita De is back in the limelight. And with a bang! The Annu Ki Ho Gayee Wah Bhai Wah heroine who was going through a bad patch in her career, seems to have come over it. She is now being seen in two of the hottest shows on television now –Ladies Special and Aahat – both on Sony.

“I feel like the happiest person on this earth now. Though my role in Aahat is for only one episode!” says a beaming Sreejita. What about Ladies Special? “I am very happy to be part of the show. Optimystix is one of the best production houses to work with and one has to work with them to understand what team work can do. The new track, the storyline, the perfect casting – everything is a result of this team work. I am really lucky to get a chance to work with them,” says the pretty actress.

What about her role? “My character is that of a typical middle-class Maharastrian girl who falls in love with a guy Abhay Sawant played by Shailesh Gulabani. The story will now showcase our love story, how we get married to each other with the support of our families, how we build our own home,” informs Sreejita.

This is the first time Sreejita and Shailesh have been paired against each other. Incidentally, Shailesh and Ashita (Babli Chaddha in Ladies Special) are seeing each other and all set to get married early next year.

How has been the audience response so far? “It has been good. I am getting many calls from my fans and friends that they like our pair,” says Sreejita who suggested the character name of Abhay Sawant because she is a big fan of Abhijeet Sawant!

How difficult is to play the role of a Maharastrian girl? We have heard stories of Priyanka Chopra learning Marathi for a few months to get into her character in Kaminey. Did Sreejita do something similar? “Well… my unit members have stopped talking to me in Hindi or English! Ever since I have started playing this role, they converse with me only in Marathi. That itself is quite a bit of exercise for me. Plus, I am also watching Marathi channels on television whenever I get time,” says Sreejita.

The cute youngster from West Bengal is also playing a key role in the first episode of the new Aahat. Her character will be a continuation from CID where she is playing a role as well. “It was an amazing experience to shoot for the show. We shot at a place near Panvel and this is perhaps the first time a train was used for a television serial shoot. They are really using state-of-the-art equipment in Aahat. It will be very different from the typical horror shows on television,” explains Sreejita.

With so much to do she must indeed feel like a special lady.
