Actor Rajshri Rani who is best known for her character Suhani in Star Plus’ Suhaani Si Ek Ladki talks about how she got into acting and where she sees herself in the future.

How did the acting bug bite you?

When I was a child, I used to dream about becoming an actor. But I never gave it a serious thought. But then I gave my first audition and was selected. It was only then I realised how passionate I was about acting. It was like a dream come true.

Tell us something about your first audition experience

It was not pre-decided. Acting happened to me accidentally. I was with a friend, who was attending an audition and there no one knew me. So someone from the crew handed me a script because they thought I had gone for the audition. I gave the audition just to pass time and I bagged my role in Bhangonwali. 

An actor has the power to influence a crowd. Do you reckon with the statement?

I guess very few people actually follow this trend, what I believe is that you should always follow good things. People do follow actors and thus the responsibility of doing good work and being good people falls on us.

What according to you is the most interesting aspect of being an actor?

You get to play so many different characters and learn so many new things. An actor has to balance between the real life and the reel life. That is an interesting challenge.

What is the most difficult thing you have ever done in your entire life?

Living alone without my mother is the hardest thing I had to do. But this is part of growing up and I accepted it.

How difficult or easy is it to manage your career and dreams?

I come from a small village without any background in the industry, but I was very fortunate that I could make my dream come true. My destiny became my dream. 

Has the glamour industry changed you as a person?

No, I have not changed a bit. I am the way I was before. But of course, the industry has taught me to open up more, which is a nice thing.

Fashion gives you an opportunity to be what you want to be. What’s your take on it?

I don't believe in fashion. I believe in comfort. Whatever is comfortable for me is the right fashion for me.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

I am a live-in-the-present kind of a person. But, yes, I do want to be more successful, more peaceful.
