Actor Anurag Sharma has been keeping really busy these days! The guy from Allahabad is perhaps one of the busiest actors in the industry today. In fact, when the actor spoke to TellyChakkar, he was in the midst of a continuous 54-hour-shoot! After all, playing Satish in Pavitra Rishta and Sushant in Tere Liye is taking all his time. “It's been 54 hours since I am shooting and still counting! I don’t even have the time to think about it,” says Anurag who came to Mumbai in 2004 and started his career with Chauda Phere on DD. “Later I managed to get shows like Prithviraj Chauhan and Bahubali because of my DD show,” remembers Anurag. He did theatre for three years and some modeling before deciding to take the plunge and move to Mumbai. Coming from a family of eight, he is the only one in the entertainment industry. “Thankfully everyone in my family supported my decision of becoming an actor. It meant a lot to me,” he says. Anurag feels real characters and superlative performances are responsible for the success of Pavitra Rishta. “If you look at the characters, they are all very well scripted and the casting is perfect. Both these factors are very important for a show. All the actors have controlled emotions and never overact,” he says. His role started as a cameo in Pavitra Rishta but on public demand progressed into a full-blown character. “It has been a year and a half and I am enjoying every moment of this show,” he smiles. About Sushant in Tere Liye, he says, “Sushant is an NRI and is a cameo. But I want to continue with this show for some more time. Hopefully viewers will like it.” How is it working with Ekta Kapoor? “Though the media and industry have tagged her as a taskmaster, my personal equation with her is very good. She is a very good human being. She gave the money for Ajay Wadhavkar's (Manav's father in Pavitra Rishta) leg replacement and without her help, it would not have happened. She is spending a lot of money on the show, so she has every right to be strict,” he reasons. Anurag believes that both film and television are equally important in his career. He will focus on whichever offers him better prospects. “I believe in simplicity and that is why still after spending near six years in Mumbai I am still unaffected. When you are rooted and are not arrogant about your success, you can stay longer in people's mind.” he signs off.
