13th Indian Telly Awards: Best Youth Show (Fiction)
Gone are the days when even the youngsters were keen on watching the crying tales of families on TV. Today, the young blood wants youth-centric shows, which talks of issues of the younger generation, and show tales depicting friendship, tussles in college life, and also educative programs that talk of the modern age dilemma that youth face. At the 13th Indian Telly Awards, we herald the work of six such youth-based fiction shows. Here is the list of nominees Sadda Haq - My Life My Choice (Channel V) A fantastic theme of a young girl fighting it out with all the men to make it big as a mechanical engineer. The show has received a lot of success in quick time, and has been doing extremely well in the popularity front. Paanch - 5 wrongs make a right (Channel V) A youth-centric theme that harbours around revenge and the manner in which the protagonist enters a college premise to spell revenge on people who have pained her. A nice story which had layers of thrill and excitement to offer. Dil Dostii Dance (Channel V) The first fiction show ever to focus on dance. Every actor in the show has gained lot of popularity, a show which has done very well on the basis of fan-following and for its unique creative story lines. The Buddy Project (Channel V) A fresh concept, youth-centric ambience with a group of young performers who presented the tale very nicely. Gumrah Season 3 (Channel V) An eye-opener for the youngsters, the show deals with crime related incidents committed by youngsters. The show has gained enormously for the realistic manner in which the stories have been shot. MTV Webbed - Season 1 (MTV) Cyber abuse is a very common crime considering that we live in the computer age. This show has very clearly depicted the issues that the youngsters face when they get into an overdose of internet usage. Internet is a great place to make friends, but what if you get webbed by a faceless predator? The show has won a lot of praise for the social message it conveys. Which is your favourite show?
