What’s the flavour of the season? We are not talking about mangoes…but the sudden deluge of love injected (plot) episodic based shows on diverse channels. And since they are being gobbled up by the youth of the country, there’s nothing much to complain about. Jo bikta hain, who dikta hai. Disney Bindass, the cool cool channel to tune into in this hot hot summer, after their successful franchise Yeh Hai Aashiqui (Lost Boy Productions and BBC Worldwide Media), is set to launch another youth based lovey dovey show, Love By Chance. Produced by Bolt Media (a division of Balaji) it will launch on 31 May and will air every Saturday at the 7 pm slot. Chopped in episodics, the first story will see actor Aashish Mehrotra playing a pivotal role. He will don an altogether interesting avatar of a Punjabi munda from Delhi called Rahul. He will hail from a rich family who would be into farming business. Although a smart guy, his character will be apprehensive when it would come to dealing with girls. Rahul’s girlfriend (Simran) will mistreat her and on the day of their break up, she will meet with an accident. He will rush to the hospital, but in time of grief, he will get struck by bolt and fall in love with a beautiful doctor (Nidhi). Thus, the name of the story, ‘luck by chance’. And how the young boy would manage to clear out the love complication in his life will be for the viewers to see. The girlfriend will be played by Renee (Roadies fame) and the doctor’s role will be essayed by Punjabi actress Sonal Malhotra. Talking on his character Aashish shares, “It’s a very light hearted comedy e which will showcase the innocence of love. It’s a beautiful story and I really enjoyed shooting for it.” Gear up to watch some lovely stories coming your way with this new show.
