"Abbas (Khan) has been the most beautiful chapter in my life" - Sucheta Khanna

Sucheta Khanna
Sucheta Khanna essays the nagging UP wife Indumati in SAB TV’s Lapataganj (Garima Productions) to the ‘T’. And what’s more? The actress who has been part of movies like Yamla Pagla Deewana and Anjaana Anjaani has also found her ‘soul mate’ on the sets of her show!! Talking about her journey in the industry, the lady avers, “I have always loved being a part of the television industry. Television is like popcorn, you have 10 seconds to emote the entire sequence, while films are less dramatic and the body language and gestures are subtle. Though I have been offered situational comedy, I would love to play an emotional character as one gets an opportunity to emote various expressions in one shot.” “Playing Indumati has been quite challenging as I had to adapt the UP dialect. After 4 years, I am glad people still like my character and are impressed by its charm. Now I can speak in UP even in my sleep. I still remember that while I was shooting for Yamla Pagla Deewana as a Punjabi lady, I could not get rid of the UP accent. I had to sit for a while and tune my dialect as a Punjabi,” she adds. Sucheta who is head over heels in love with the prince of Mahmoodabad in Lucknow, Abbas Khan, her co-actor in Lapataganj talks about future plans stating, “Abbas has been the most beautiful chapter in my life. We are currently focused on our careers and share a very understanding relationship.” The actor took us by surprise when she further revealed their plans to tie the knot! She cheerfully informs us, “Our date of conjugal should be finalized soon and I look forward to get married by this year end.” We send in hearty wishes to the couple!!!
