Small screen actor Anuj Saxena has moved a special court in New Delhi for anticipatory bail in graft case, a leading daily has reported.

The actor, known for his work in ‘Kkusum' and 'Kumkum', moved the court in the case, which also involves Director General of Corporate Affairs B K Bansal, the daily added.

According to CBI, FIR was registered against the actor, alleging that his company Elder Pharmaceuticals had apparently bribed Bansal to ensure that an SFIO inspection against the firm doesn't take place, the site stated.

Th charges against the firm include, illegal collection of Rs 175 crore from 24,000 investors, apparent diversion of funds to companies abroad and not giving returns on time, stated the daily.

However, Saxena, the CEO and Chairman-cum Managing Director of the company has not been arrested by CBI. While Bansal, middleman Vishwadeep Bansal and private persons involved in the scandal have been taken into custody, the daily reported.

The daily stated that following complaints from investors, who alleged that the company had collected over Rs 175 crore from over 24,000 investors under Companies' Acceptance of Deposits Rule, and had lured them with attractive interest rates, a case was registered against those involved in the supposed scam.

The daily also added that Special CBI Judge Gurdeep Singh asked CBI to respond to Saxena's plea.
