Zee TV’s Afsar Bitiya, produced by Village Boy Productions achieves the feat of completing 200 episodes today (24 September 2012). The show has had a roller-coaster journey wherein it got a lot of critical acclaim when it began. However, after the protagonist Krishna (Mitali Nag) became the BDO, viewers started to lose interest in the show and the ratings dipped. But now, with more drama coming in and the journey ahead of Krishna becoming an IAS officer has evoked curiosity among the audience. Says producer Raakesh Paswan, “It feels good to have completed 200 episodes of Afsar Bitiya. We are at an interesting phase when it comes to the story line. Audience loved the journey of Krishna in becoming an Afsar initially, and now she is working hard to become an IAS officer. Also, we have the interesting twist of Pinky trying her best to spoil Krishna’s plans. We have to see to what extent Pinky can go in order to get what she wants. Krishna will soon get back to her sasural and her struggle in balancing between her IAS aspirations and becoming an ideal Bahu of the house will provide for an interesting family angle.” So what is in store for today’s celebrations? “Well, we are not celebrating today as it is a week day. We plan to have a celebration this weekend which will be convenient for all.” We wish the entire team of Afsar Bitiya a great day ahead and many more days of such celebrations.
