Seasoned actress Amardeep Jha, last seen in Itti Si Khushi will make her comeback to TV with an upcoming show on Star Plus.

Producers Ravindra Gautam and Pradeep Kumar’s Paperback Films Pvt. Ltd. will have their maiden venture, Durga launching on Star Plus in the month of December. And Amardeep we hear will play a pivotal role.

Durga, will be the story of a young girl who would be pushed by her family to get into serious studies and gain fame in her academics. However, her passion towards sports, especially athletics will be nurtured when she will bump into a coach who will give her renewed enthusiasm and motivation to excel in the field.

Tellychakkar.com has already reported about child artiste Ananya Agarwal essaying the younger version of the female lead. Actors Rajesh Shringarpure, Rakhi Vijan, Vicky Ahuja will be part of the show.

As per sources, “Amardeep will play the grand mother of Durga. She will be a disciplinarian who will want her grand daughter to excel in studies.”

When contacted, Amardeep told us, “Yes, I am doing the show. But I am yet to start shoot.”

The shoot of Durga is already on, with the team shooting presently in Mumbai after wrapping up their outdoor shoot in Punjab.

As for the producers, Ravindra Gautam the acclaimed director has earlier produced a show Armaanon Ka Balidaan, under his earlier formed banner RG Media and Entertianment. However, he has now partnered with good friend Pradeep Kumar to form the new banner Paperback Films Pvt. Ltd.

Pradeep has had a long and successful career in both TV and movies. He has worked as Production Manager in the team of film maker Mehul Kumar, and has been part of movies Kitne Door Kitne Paas and Jaago. He later joined Shakuntalam Telefilms in the year 2004 and was with the production house till the year 2014. He started off his career with the production as Production Head and moved out as Project Head.
