There were reports that the show went on floors, but after that the hue and cry died down. But now we have learned that this epic series has received a go ahead from the channel and its casting is currently in progress. And to pick the best faces, the makers are conducting auditions across major cities in the country.

Siddharth Tewary’s Swastik Pictures’ ambitious project Mahabharata on Star Plus created quite a buzz in the media initially. There were reports that the show went on floors, but after that the hue and cry died down. But now we have learned that this epic series has received a go ahead from the channel and its casting is currently in progress. And to pick the best faces, the makers are conducting auditions across major cities in the country.
First city where the auditions will take place is Kolkata starting from today (9 May -10 May, 2012), followed by Delhi (12 May- 13 May), Bhopal (18 May-19 May) and finally, Indore (21 May).
If sources are to be believed then the story of Mahabharata will be dealt with a different perspective and will be depicted from Gandhari’s point of view.
We got in touch with producer Siddharth Tewary but he refused to comment anything.
