MUMBAI: Shilpa Shinde, who rose to fame with her role of Angoori Bhabhi in &TV's Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, has started her political career.    

The popular television actress, who is also the winner of Bigg Boss 11, has joined Congress party.    

On her decision of joining politics, Shilpa said to media, “I have thought about how I have taken a stand for me and have succeeded in doing it every time and now, whatever wrong happens, I want to come ahead and help the other people out.”

When the actress was further asked if she consulted anyone from Bollywood or others, she said that she did not consult with anyone.
