Channel [V] always aims to experiment quite a lot to bring in freshness and uniqueness in its shows. This time around, they have experimented with something completely new in their popular show Dil Dostii Dance, produced by Cinevistaas Ltd. Well, Dil Dostii Dance recently went international in the most unique way possible. Read here for details. Shakti Mohan, who essays the role of Kriya had some personal commitments and had to fly to USA for nearly two weeks. Since the makers and the channel did not get ample time to shoot in advance with her, they devised a new plan to keep her character Kriya alive in the sequences so that the viewers’ interest remains high. A source tells us that the team of Dil Dostii Dance worked out on a plan wherein Shakti would carry the portable 5D and C300 camera with her to the USA and shoot her scenes and send the footage back, so that she would regularly be seen on the show. And this is what exactly happened. Shakti ended up shooting some sequences in the air flight, few montages of Kriya being in a sad mood in Chicago and few more, which were used in the episodes last week. A source goes on to elaborate that Shakti in fact had some hilarious incidents out there while shooting her scenes. She had to cook up umpteen stories in order to convince people out there to shoot her sequences using her portable camera. Well, we could not get through to Shakti for a chat on her experience as she is presently out of country. But we did manage to talk to Ameeta Devadiga, Creative Head Dil Dostii Dance for her views on the same. Ameeta told Tellychakkar.com, “Channel [V] usually works on something new, and this time Dil Dostii Dance went international in a very interesting way. Shakti Mohan had a prior commitment where she had to go to USA for two weeks. So in order to keep her in the track, we decided to shoot with her in the USA. Sending a team along with her was not feasible, hence we took a different route. All this was possible as we use a portable camera at Channel [V]. So Shakti took along with her a 5D and C 300 camera and shot her sequences out there and sent the footage. We have been having her in our episodes from last week. It has been an interesting experiment, and has come out well.” We dropped a text message to Prem Kamath, GM and EVP, Channel [V] but did not get any revert till the time of filing the story.
