With the roll out of new shows being planned post IPL, we have an interesting development hitting our news desk this moment. After tickling down the funny bones of television audience with some mind-blowing sitcoms like Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, Khichdi and Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai; we had earlier reported about JD Majethia’s production house Hats Off Productions roping in Sumeet Raghavan for a new comedy show on SAB TV. But we wonder what will the channel and the production house do about Jeannie Aur Juju produced by Eagle Film Productions, which presently holds the above slot? Cuts in a source, “Well, the production house and the channel have mutually decided to end the show. The cast was informed on 15 April about Jeannie Aur Juju going off-air. The last episode of the show will air on 6 June and it will be replaced by JD’s rom-com show, which will air from 9 June.” Also we learn that the actors in Jeannie Aur Juju are stressed out as the production team expects too much out of them to roll out the final episodes. “In fact Ali Asgar, (who plays the protagonist character of Juju on the show) is fatigued shooting for Comedy Nights With Kapil and Jeannie Aur Juju, “adds in the same source. Interesting!!! We contacted JD Majethia on the development, he claimed, “Yes, we are coming up with a new show but I cannot confirm anything as of now as we are yet to pitch in the idea which will happen in a week’s time.” We tried contacting Business Head of SAB TV Anooj Kapoor and producer of Eagle Films, Rajiv Mehra for confirmation of the same but they remained unavailable for comment. We texted Ali and Rubina and they also remained out of reach.
