The show is getting its fair share of publicity but how? After the expulsion of actor-director Kamal R Khan from the Bigg Boss house now the Information and Broadcasting Ministry has issued a showcause notice to Hindi general entertainment channel Colors, objecting to the content being shown in the reality show Big Boss 3. The channel is given five days to explain why the show should not be taken off the air for "offending good taste." Some clippings of the upcoming episodes show that two of the female contestants pulled down Raju Srivastav’s shorts when they were at the poolside. Though this scene has still not been aired the promos had been on air and viewers saw the objectionable portions. When contacted, Colors spokesperson said to Indiantelevision, "We are yet to receive the notice from MIB and shall reply accordingly once we receive the same. We at Colors have taken all measures to ensure that our programme Bigg Boss-Season 3 is in compliance with the Programme Code and we meticulously beep out any abusive language used by participants keeping in mind the sensitivity of the audience." The Ministry has pointed out that certain parts of the reality show "offend against good taste and decency and are not suitable for unrestricted public exhibition." The notice also says that the language used by some participants is abusive and the show contains visuals which appear to be obscene and violative of the government's Programme Code. It is specifically pointed out that in a recent visual, one participant has been shown pulling down the shorts of another participant. "This has offended the sensibilities of many viewers," says the notice. A source from the show says, “Yes, Raju’s shorts were pulled own. In all likelihood it was Aditi Govitrikar and Tanaaz Irani who played this prank. Though this scene has not gone on air it has been airing on various news channels.”
