Dr. Amol Kolhe is fighting a losing battle over Veer Shivaji

Tellychakkar.com broke the news of Contiloe Telefilms’ Veer Shivaji being pulled off air. Producer Abhimanyu Singh confirmed to us that it will bid adieu by the end of May, 2012. It is believed that Saurabh Tiwari’s upcoming show, starring Vivian Dsena and Drashti Dhami, Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon will replace Shivaji. Though it is confirmed that this historical saga is in its last leg, yet its lead Dr Amol Kolhe is optimistic that things will change for good and the show will continue to entertain masses. “I’ve got to know from internet that another show will be replacing ours but then the fans are trying their best to retain it,” says Amol. He further says, “Currently, we are working on the Afzal Khan story. This plot has been one of the most interesting stories in the history of Maharashtra and the viewers have always liked it, hence I am very hopeful that this track will help us pick our TRPs. I am sure with Shivaji, history will repeat itself.” Then he strikes an optimistic note, “You never know… the channel might re-think on its strategy.” Okay…we too hope the same. But is he keen on taking up any other Hindi project in the future? “As of now, my complete focus is on this show and I am giving my best to it. However, if the serial still does not click with the audience then it’s a different thing. But for now I am not having any second thoughts.” In fact, he goes on to state, “I have been receiving a lot of messages from the fans and the Chandragupta Maurya case has been very inspiring for us, hence we are hoping the same.” However, he does admit that the Veer Shivaji team had been very upset a few days ago after learning about the show’s fate. “We are currently shooting the sequence wherein the morale of people in Maharashtra went down due to Afzal Khan attacking them. Hence both on-screen and off-screen, the morale was low. But now everybody is confident and we are all working towards the betterment of the series.” We are glad to witness Amol’s commitment towards Veer Shivaji!!!
