Bubblicious and gorgeous Mrunal Thakur, who made her television debut with Star Plus’ Khamoshiyaan, will be soon seen in Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming show Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV. The show stars Ekta’s blue-eyed-boy Shabbir Ahluwalia, Sriti Jha (last seen in Balika Vadhu), theatre actor Faisal Rashid and of course Mrunal. In a candid chat with Tellychakkar.com, Mrunal, aka Bulbul, speaks about the new show and character. “I am playing myself in the show. Bulbul is a very vivacious and fun-loving girl. She likes to explore and wear branded clothes, but since she belongs to an average living family she makes sure to wear the first copy. She is in love with Rockstar Abhi (Shabbir) and dreams about him always. Her family is her world and most importantly it is her sister Pragya (Sriti Jha), who is very simple and easy going kind of a girl. And she is always after her (Pragya) to change her lifestyle and perception towards life,” she avers. Do you think that because of Sriti your role will get overshadowed? “Not at all, Sriti is a sweetheart. In fact she helps me a lot to improvise my scenes. She is like my sister. They are all very helping. Moreover every character has its own charm and importance,” she observes. Are you nervous working with Ekta? “Well, I think of her differently. For me she is our teacher who is after us to score good marks because she is the captain of our ship. And if we are going wrong, she takes it to be her duty to take us on the right path,” Mrunal answers. “Till date I have never seen such a hard working woman like Ekta. She is working on the show, story and characters and getting into every minute detail which not all do. And since a lot of hard work and homework is involved, I am glad to work with her,” Mrunal observes. Lastly what will audience expect from this show? “I would like to answer this query in a line, “If you want to see a slice of life then please watch this show,” she quips.
