Well, it couldn't have gotten any better! Ekta's 07/07/07 James Bond party and belated birthday bash, held last night at her Juhu bungalow rocked till the wee hours of the morning. The do was well attended not just by the telly junta but this time even the filmi folk came in hordes to show Ekta with the entertainment lady who's the mostest - Ekta Kapoor. While a lot of the party attendees (especially the fairer sex), dressed keeping the black and red theme in mind, the male fraternity for a large part dressed as though they had come to a regular do. The celebs started trickling in by about 11 pm. Some hit the bar as soon as they arrived while others bonded around the rooftop which had been converted into a Casino like the one in " Casino Royale". Some of the early ones to arrive were Cezanne Khan, Ketaki Dave along with all the senior brigade from Kyunki along with Sooraj Thapar, T-Series supreme Bhushan Kumar and his lovely wife, Prabhat Bhattachharrya, Yash and Gouri Tonk (both had dressed in keeping with the Jame Bond theme), Vikas, Chetan Hansraj, among others. We caught Tusshar Kapoor along with bad boy Shabbir Ahluwalia greeting all the guests as they arrived. The party moved into hyper-mode when the queen bee of soaps turned up much much after midnight. Dressed in a short black dress (a designer creation no doubt), she glowed, basking in the success and happy to be with her close friends. She urged and cajoled everyone to rock and roll and hip hop on the dance floor to the groovy remixed Hindi filmi music the Deejay was belting out. Many hit the jam packed dance floor as soon as they arrived while others couldn't resist boogeying on the sidelines. In her peculiar warm style Ekta, first went around hugging and bonding with most of the guests around. Then she went around dunking liqeur shots down the throats of all who came in her sights leaving them gasping, though in high spirits. She also hit the dance floor on more than one occasion, letting herself go to the beats of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. We caught Sakshi Tanwar letting her hair down and along with the Kahanni gang gyrating to the latest filmi numbers. A rather soulful Narayani came sans Gaurav. She quietly sat in a corner with a drink and preferred not to mingle with anyone around. When someone tried to get her talking, all she said was "hey, don't you think the music is too loud to talk? And she shifted to another quieter place. Hmm… Bathroom singer Gaurav Gera along with his buddies from the industry kept Aditi Wahi company. The Nach Baliye couples Hiten, Gauri, and Yash Gauri were seen matching their steps. Though, we think Gauri Pradhan, was trying hard but still hasn't got her steps right. Some of the surprises for the evening were Cezanne Khan, Sandip Sikcand and even the reticient Tarun Katial who came along with his dishy wife the head of TV at UTV, Monisha Singh. Others seen were Kumud Chaudhary who is looking after production at INX Media and her programming head, Sony's senior programmer Harsha Khanna nee Chugh (looking pretty) was seen with her Indian Idol director husband Romi Khanna. From the Kayamat starcast, we spotted Jay Bhanushali and Sooraj Thapar. The latter was seen chatting with Daksha Chachi and Manav Vij, who has lost oodles of weight hung around with Rahoul most of the time. A svelte looking Gautami preferred to hang around with hubby Ram Kapoor (who looked ravishing in his black and red ensemble and very unshaven look). Ali Asgar, Prabhat Bhattacharrya, Nikhal Arrya (with his fiancée), Jasvir Kaur, Urvashi Dholakia, Nandita Thankur, Rupali Ganguli and Rupa Ganguly, Deepak Parasher, Deepak Qazir, were some of the other faces who were seen burning the floor. Some of the television professionals present were Anil Wanvari, Founder and CEO, Indiantelevision.com, Aparna Pande, Ashwini Yardi (Zee TV's programmer par excellence who is now joining the Viacom TV 18 entertainment joint venture), amongst others. (Almost every channel was represented but surprisingly no one from Star appeared to be in sight). Viveik Oberio, made a grand entry in the wee hours of the night. Basking in the success of Shootout at Lokhandwala, vivacious Ekta and Viveik both burnt the dance floor. Sanjay Gupta and Anurag BAsu also made a brief appearance. Not too many cared to eat but some grabbed a plate on the way out. Over all if Tellychakkar was to rate Ekta's Bond gig, well it would rate as the best she has managed so far! Keep it up! Cheers!
