&TV has quite a lot of new launches in store this summer!! And the first project to take shape will be ace Producer Ashvini Yardi’s new fiction concept titled ‘Waaris’. Set in the backdrop of the Punjabi culture, the story will deal with the heirs in families, and how a male child gets more importance when compared to the daughters. As for Ashvini, she will be working under a newly formed banner Vini Yard Films, for this show. She produces Jamai Raja presently under the banner formed with Akshay Kumar, Grazing Goat Pictures. She earlier helmed channels Zee TV and Colors to give some path-breaking concepts. Now getting to the cast, Tellychakkar.com has got exclusive information about Aarti Singh bagging the lead role in Waaris. Joining him will be Jodha Akbar fame Gaurav Sharma in the parallel lead role. As per reliable sources, “Waaris will strike an emotional chord with families. While Aarti and Gaurav have already come on board, talks are presently on with SV Siddhaanth Surryavanshi, earlier known by the name Anand Suryavanshi for a pivotal role.” When contacted, Aarti asked us to call later, citing that she was busy. Gaurav too claimed to be busy, and did not reply to our text message asking him about the show. We could not get through to Siddhaanth though. Our efforts to reach out to the channel were in vain. We also tried buzzing the concerned person at Vini Yardi Films, but did not get any confirmation. We hear that the unit is all set to start their first schedule of shoot very soon.
