MUMBAI: Shubhaavi Choksey is currently seen playing the character of Nandini Kapoor in Sony TV's show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2.

The actress is playing Ram's mother and is seen in a negative avatar.

Shubhaavi's character has a lot of different shades and we have seen how beautifully she portrays it with so much perfection.

The stunning diva has received a lot of appreciation for her role in the show.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Shubhaavi who spoke at length about Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 and much more.

How has your journey as Nandini Kapoor shaped so far in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2?

As far as the character is concerned, I knew it was going to be negative. I still remember when people watched the first few episodes, they asked me about my character. I used to tell them that they will know with time. Nandini was supposed to be too subtle, not being seen initially and then the graph was supposed to go up. I was supposed to be really negative. Nandini's character is very classy. She is too manipulative and self-centered. She is too much of everything but the acting is going to be subtle. That is what I wanted. Nandini is the biggest 'Miti churi' on television. I wanted to play that and I am glad that I am doing it. 

What kind of response do you get on social media for playing Nandini's character?

I get a lot of DMs. They said, "Ma'am, we want to hate Nandini but the way, you do it, you are such a great actress". I love that. Off late, I have heard that fans are eagerly waiting to see what will be my next expression. It's very nice that the creatives are giving me some scenes which are black comedy. I love this little comic element that is sometimes added to my character. It is good fun. 

How is the experience to work in TV czarina Ekta Kapoor's shows? 

I think I am blessed to work in Ekta Kapoor shows. I did Kyunki Saas Bi Kabhi Bahu Thi in 2004. But the first conversation I had with her was in 2018 during the narration of Kasauti Zindagii Kay 2. Before that, I had never spoken to her, though we had always greeted each other during award functions or any events. I am filled with gratitude. I still got to star in iconic shows in my career even after I was on and off from work a lot of times. The experience and the journey have been great.

Shubhaavi is known for her roles in shows like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain season 1, C.I.D., Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, among others.
