Actress Papiya Sengupta, who is presently seen donning the avatar of Moora, Chandragupt’s mother in Balaji Telefilms’ Chandra Nandni on Star Plus, is extremely thankful to Ekta Kapoor for being concerned for her, when she was going through a personal low recently. 

Papiya lost her father in the month of August, soon after she wrapped up shoot of &TV’s Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, again a Balaji show. 

The actress had to start shoot for Chandra Nandni, but Ekta was very considerate about the fact that Papiya went through a personal loss and delayed her shoot dates. 

Says Papiya, “God bless Ekta. Thankfully, she gave me the days I needed to pick myself after my father’s demise. She was very firm that I should be starting shoot for Chandra Nandini only after the shraddh got over. 7 September was my father’s 13^thday, and I started shooting for the show from 8 September.”

Papiya Sengputa, a Balaji loyalist has been part of few successful shows of Ekta like Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum. 

Now, she’s doing her first historical concept ever with Balaji Telefilms’ Chandra Nandni.

She elaborates. “Balaji is like family. And Ekta always knew about my dad’s fading health condition. She has done so much for me. Now it is time for me to perform well as Moora.”

Lastly, talking about her new show, Papiya avers, “I was initially apprehensive about my language since this is a historical show. However, with time, I have got a hang of the language. I am enjoying shooting for Chandra Nandni. We hope audiences love it too.”
