Ashish Roy, who is currently acting in Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka was initially thinking that none of his friends had remembered his birthday. Late last night, his friend persuaded him to go out with him for coffee. While sipping on coffee he was mournfully thinking that he would have a solitary birthday. He had expected to return to a dark and lonely home. He got the most pleasant surprise of his lifetime when he saw all his friends who reside in three different cities (Mumbai, Pune and Talgaon) come out from hiding from various nooks and corners of his home to wish him happy birthday. There was a delicious cake on the table. They gave him birthday bumps and smeared cake on his face. He being a very amiable host, prepared coffee for all of them. Indeed, this actor was also elated to receive a coffee mug as a gift. He explained, “I am a coffee mug collector. The coffee mug that this caring friend gave me made me smile.” Ashish has invited 150 friends including the journalists of Tellychakkar.com to a party today. He said, “These friends are from various walks of life. As the theme is Bollywood, no English music will be played. Instead of communicating on WhatsApp; they will come and talk face to face. They will put their hair down, eat, dine and have a blast. I hope to make more friends by next year so that I may invite more people.” What is his birthday wish? He surprised us by his unconventional answer, “I hope the government revokes service tax and that the Versova to Ghatkopar metro line in Mumbai is completed.” What are his feelings on growing a year older? “I am surely not growing wiser with age. Had I been wiser I would have got married. In fact I refuse to grow old, I am still a child at heart.” Actress Farida Jalal is also celebrating her birthday today. She had lunch with her family in a restaurant. She has received many gifts too but didn’t wish to mention exactly what kind of gifts she had received. She is throwing a party in the evening. “My friends and family have planned surprises for me,” she added. We wish both the actors a birthday full of surprises.
