A page from the personal diary of Sumit Vats Hello everyone, this is Sumit Vats aka Rishi Kumar of Hitler Didi on Zee TV. I am here today to tell you something about myself. Born and brought up in Delhi, I did a post graduation degree in Journalism from the national capital. I am more of the happy-go-lucky kind of guy who loves enjoying every moment and I love to be myself in my comfort zone. Earlier, in Delhi, I was into theatre. So naturally, acting was something I knew well in advance. Acting is something which depends on the situation more than one’s acting skills. It is not easy to do the same thing on television which I perform in theatre. According to me theatre and television are two different mediums and are way opposite to each other in the sense of execution. In television you have the priority to take several number of takes but in theatre you have to be instant and that is about it. Since I was into theatre, the passion for acting was more. Later I started giving shots for television as well. In order to give wings to my dream, I landed in Mumbai-the city of dreams. I treat the time when I was pursuing my post graduation and working as a journalist to be the most interesting phase of my life so far. In my school days I was more into badminton and loved playing games, but now I love reading books, listening to music and chill around in my comfort zone where nobody is there except me. I miss Delhi a lot but Mumbai is a place where people get lost in its fun. It is always a problem for any individual to leave one’s comfort zone and get lost in the crowd; it is a challenge on its own, but once you get used to it, you forget the rest and start focusing on you goal. I consider Hitler Didi to be turning point of my career because it has given me a unique identity in this industry. My role in Mukti Bandhan was the most promising one so far, but had to quit the show because of my ill health. I have no future plans as such like getting into Bollywood or a reality show. I believe that I am little bird who wants to fly very high, so don’t stop me because sky is the limit for me. I think that’s all for the moment. So this is Sumit Vats taking your leave for now with a hope to meet you soon with some more interesting stuff.
