Imam Siddiqui might not have won the title of Bigg Boss 6 (lost out to Urvashi Dholakia), but the man readily accepted that he is happy to have received lot of love and warmth from people around him. Talking to the media, the runner-up of the big ticket Colors reality show said, “I do not need the 50 lakh rupees as I am happy with the smiles on the faces of journalists. Having said this, I do need the money, but that can come later too.” On his experience of being in the Bigg Boss house, Imam narrated, “It was the best experience of my life. When I initially entered the other house, all my planning and choreography went out of the window as it was not the house I saw and people present there were different.” Imam claimed that he was very happy with Urvashi winning the title, “I regard her as my elder sister, a single woman raising her kids. I am very happy for her and for the matter of fact, I have actually prayed for her from the bottom of my heart. However, life will change for Urvashi now as she will realize the real meaning of being a reality TV show celebrity. In a way, I am glad that I lost as I cannot imagine the pressure the win would be creating on her.” The choreographer turned image consultant further added, “I did try to control myself as I have a tendency to lose my cool and become obnoxious.” Quickly defending his actions, he also said, “You need to understand that this was not an ordinary house and situations were not normal. I had people attacking me, asking me how I had not seen so much of money in these fifty years. Frankly speaking, one of the tasks given to me allowed me to vent out my emotions, but I chose not to do so. Instead I prayed to Ganeshji who I regard as Allah to show me the right path.” On the other contestants, Imam spoke his heart out, “I had lot of grudges against Niketan Madhok as he was speaking rubbish. But I decided to channelize my anger, by singing ‘Lakdi ki Kati’ for him. I also made him sit on a swing and pushed him. I did not want to crush someone who was already dead.” Imam further felt, “It would be wrong to judge me on just ten minutes of madness which the channel focused on, for TRP purposes. They never got to show the good deeds of mine wherein I remained awake late at night to do my cleaning job. I used to barely sleep for two hours in order to perform the tasks assigned to me.” In hindsight, Imam felt that the Bigg Boss journey has made him more patient. “I don’t think the journey has changed me as I am happy about what I am. If somebody is not comfortable, I cannot help it. I do not need any affirmation from anyone outside.” He also made it very clear that “I am ashamed of my own actions but not regretful. Both are as different as a mountain and mole hole. All said and done, I have attained a certain name and fame from this show.” Imam later took the chance to ridicule a journalist who asked him if he will fine-tune his behaviour and be more responsible in future. “I have spent more years in media than you have in your entire life.” He also accepted that he did things which made him appear visually attractive as required by the format. “In totality, I was being myself. I awakened the chakras of other contestants 24*7 just by being myself.” The man has no qualms throwing attitude and said, “I am attitude personified but the big difference is that I don’t subscribe to the flip side of attitude which is called ‘baditude’ which most Indian celebrities have. I have no issues with the fact that some of my house mates may not like me for the rest of their life. I had to respond to the other person’s ‘baditude’ with my attitude. Who are they to hate me? Based on the number of hours you check yourself in the mirror, love me or hate me, you just cannot ignore me.” Imam accepted that he could have avoided the unpleasant run in with Salman Khan, “I am glad that I did not speak more on it during the Finale, as it would have meant digging my professional grave. Salman is the Sutr-dhar on the show and a big Bollywood super star. I agree that I should have kept my counsel.” Before signing off, Imam said, “The reason why I came on board was to give a message to youth that while aspiring to be cool; one should also try to stay within limits. Hence I kept singing the famous song from the super hit film Mother India ‘Duniya Mein Hum Aaye Hain to Jeena Hi Padega’. Imam…you are a true entertainer…
