I am blessed to play a rightful character like Vivek Kabra - Vimarsh Roshan

Vimarsh Roshan
Vimarsh Roshan who is mostly known for his mean-minded and negative roles on the small screen is thankful to God for giving him an opportunity to play the rightful character of Vivek Kabra in the popular and long-running show on Colors, Balika Vadhu. Says Vimarsh, “First of all, it is dream come true to work with such learned and experienced names of the industry. Every one of them is very cordial in approach, and you get to learn so much from them. When I am not shooting my scene, I prefer to sit on the set than laze around in my room. I usually sit quiet, watching their scenes. This gives me an opportunity to learn.” Vimarsh feels that it is not a cake-walk for people who take the path of honesty, and this actually makes his role all the more challenging. “After playing quite a lot of negative roles, I am blessed to play a character like Vivek. He is a person who will always stand for justice and truth, even in the worse of situations. As you have seen, the guy has gone against his brother, and is now going against his parents. As an actor, I am eager to give my best to the role.” Tell Vimarsh that his on-screen chemistry with Sanchi, essayed by Roop Durgapal has been appreciated by the audience and he is quick to say, “Yes, I am happy that things have fallen in place. As I told you, playing Vivek Kabra is tough. But if the character has gone on to be appreciated, the credit goes to the entire team of Balika Vadhu starting from the writers to the directors. I am sure that in the story ahead too, Vivek will be put to situations wherein he will have to rise up and take tough stands. Talking about Roop, she is a wonderful human being. Though she is young in age, she is a senior to me on the sets (smiles). I always reach out to her for help. And since we both are open to discussions, we usually have a chat before shooting our scenes. This helps us to give our best.” The actor feels that after playing Vivek, he has gotten more receptive to the sensitive situations that he faces. “I was earlier not a sensitive guy personally. I always failed to understand the emotional repercussions of a given situation. After playing the highly sensitive Vivek, I feel the sensitivity quotient within me has increased.” Lastly, ask him whether he was not apprehensive of getting lost in an already well-knit set up of Balika Vadhu which comprises of brilliant performers, and he explains, “I do not work on the basis of comparisons. When I usually take up a challenge, I work towards fulfilling all expectations. When the creatives narrated the role of Vivek Kabra to me, I felt that I had a scope to perform as it was a very strong and prominent character. It would be shallow thinking on my part to compare my body of work in the show with the senior actors who have done so wonderfully well for the show. I believed that I had the ability to deliver, and I am trying my best to keep viewers entertained with my role.” Vimarsh has been seen in shows like Bidaai, Jyoti, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara to name a few. Vimarsh, we hope you get appreciated for your role!!
