Gautam Rode is quite kicked about anchoring Nach Baliye (Star Plus) once again with Karan Wahi. “It is a lot of fun, as anchoring is more about creating a comfort level with the contestants and judges.” Talking about his off-screen camaraderie with Karan he says, “We are comfy in real life as well, he is chote and I am bade. Many a times we improvise on stage and people seem to enjoy our jokes. ” Ask him for the feedback he has got from the channel and production house (24 Frames), and he quips, “If we are back, it shows we must have done something right. On a more serious note the last season rocked due to the great chemistry between the jodis and excellent judging. Everybody had a blast including us.” Among all the three judges, he enjoys a personal rapport with Terence Lewis. “Sajid Khan joined the show last year and we share more of a formal relationship with him. The same holds good with Shilpa Shetty as well.” Do your relatives not feel a bit offended when they see your boy jokes on the idiot box, we ask him. “They know it is in jest and boy banter is always fun to watch, as it lightens the otherwise tense atmosphere.” Since this show is about relationships, don’t you and Karan also feel the need to have a baliye? “On the set it does, but practically speaking I am too busy to think about getting into a relationship. I am working all the 30 days of a month (Sarasawatichandra and Nach Baliye). If I do get time in the future, I will surely think of finding a mate.” Coming to Saraswatichandra Gautam avers, “We are happy that our Star Plus show is now in the top ten charts. I hope we continue to do well in the coming weeks as well. I have got lot of name and fame, thanks to this TV adaptation of a famous Gujarati novel by the same title.” He further states that he has become so comfortable playing Saraswatichandra that he now understands how he will react to different situations spontaneously. In conclusion, Gautam who has done others shows like Lucky, Mera Naam Karegi Roshan, Baa Bahoo Aur Baby etc makes it clear that between acting and anchoring, he prefers the former. “I am an actor who likes to host as well.
