I like being bad on TV and good in real life: Sangram Singh

Sangram Singh
The bad boy Ashok played by the good looking Sangram Singh in Star Plus’ Yeh Hai Mohabbatein (Balaji Telefilms) is being well appreciated by viewers and the insiders in the industry alike. No, we aren’t talking about wrestler Sangram Singh, but another Punjabi munda who debuted on Hindi TV shows with an episodic of Yeh Hai Aashiqui opposite the beautiful Aishwarya Sakhuja after being a successful model and actor in the Punjabi film industry. “This is my first daily show and I am really having fun shooting for it. Incidentally, the show is getting good TRPs. The team is also quite motivated and is working hard to improve the quality of the show,” he shares. With this being his first show, his ease on talking about numbers surprised us. Laughing Sangram quips, “Numbers are the most important thing in TV these days and with everyone talking about it around me I am slowly getting the hang of it. It’s actually fun waiting for the TRPs every week.” As we talked to him about his role, the actor avers, “I love the negative character that I am playing in the show. In real life I am this simple, peaceful, happy and good boy and thus get to vent out all my frustration by enacting this role. An actor’s job is all about portraying a character that is different from them and I think I am managing that. I believe on being bad on TV but good in real life.” So has he managed to adjust to the routine of a daily show? “I am getting used to it. When I got selected for the show, my friends warned me about the erratic schedule of TV shows and how it takes a toll on one’s personal life. It is a task indeed but it’s all about your mindset and knowing how to balance. That can only help you succeed,” he answers. Sangram, who is a popular figure in ramp shows, is all geared up with his Punjabi film Control Bhaji Control that also stars the most loved Karan Kundra. “The film is releasing in the third week of March and soon after I will plan what to do next. There are talks with some more projects; let’s see what future holds for me next,” Sangram informs. We are sure it will be great for you Sangram!!!
