I believe in experimenting and constantly challenging myself as an actor: Zohaib Siddiqui

Zohaib Siddiqui
He is the perfect manifestation of every lady’s dream man. With the killer combination of a well sculpted body and a face chiseled to perfection, Zohaib Siddiqui swept the audience off their feet with indigenous acting style in popular sitcoms like Zee TV’s Sapne Suhaane Ladakpan Ke, Channel V’s Sadda Haq, Life OK’s Shapath and Ek Boond Ishq. Tellychakkar.com catches up with the good looking actor and takes a sneak peek at his journey in the television industry and unravels some secrets about his personal life. Zohaib Siddiqui being a man of few words describes himself as, “I am a calm and composed individual. I don’t like to rush or jump into decisions. I am unpredictable at times.” Recounting his journey into the television industry and his work in the acting space, the actor excerpts, “My journey into the acting space has been fabulous. I was working for Wipro in 2009, when I caught up with a childhood friend who helped to realize that my actual passion was acting. Then I moved on to doing some films down south, none of which got released. I was disheartened but I did not give up on my dream of pursuing acting. Later Shapath happened which marked the beginning of my journey into the television industry. Since then, everything has been a learning process and each day I am pushing my potential and exploiting my talent.” Well said Zohaib! The handsome actor unveils some of his hidden talents saying, “I play the guitar. I was a part of my college band too. I absolutely love it and I think it is the best stress buster. I even play the drums and work as a part time DJ for private parties.” Mostly seen as a parallel-lead in many of the shows, Sapne Suhaane shot Zohaib to fame but the impact of his comeback on the show was short-lived and did not garner the expected acclaim. The actor opens up about the same and shares,” “I think it is the part of the process that the channel, production and the creative set for an actor. We don’t really have a say in how the track is going to progress or is going to end. I personally don’t believe in the entire terminology of tagging actors as ‘leads’ or ‘parallel-leads’. At the end of the day it is the character that is being portrayed that matters. It is not the length but the impact of the character that matters.” He added saying, “Sapne Suhaane gave me the chance to essay the character of Rajiv Agrawal who was a strong and independent Hockey coach. But, when Rajiv’s character made a comeback, he was altogether a very different person and not the old and optimistic Rajiv everybody once knew. I personally liked my character in the first half as compared to the comeback.” We completely agree! We dug our claws deep to know more about the Zohaib’s relationship status. He shares, “I am single. But I never really gave it a thought. I am open to a relationship but just waiting for things to fall into place. My career is an important priority but I wouldn’t really mind getting into a relationship.” On his comeback on Life OK with the show Ek Boond Ishq, he excerpts, “Life OK of course has a close connection. I started off my television career with Shapath and the show will always be close to my heart. Now I am back on the channel with Ek Boond Ishq. I played a cop in Shapath and in Ek Boond, I am again portraying a cop. I personally think, a cop is a larger than life character. It is a dream come true for many of the actors.” So what does he think has given him a larger platform to display his talent? A soft spoken Zohaib says, “During Shapath we were an entire team and the story didn’t really focus on any specific character with any actor in the limelight. Whereas with Ek Boond the current track revolves around my character and demands a lot more. I am thoroughly enjoying shooting for Ek Boond and I am pushing my boundaries and giving it my best shot to entertain you guys.” Any Bollywood dreams? He says, “Yes of course, every actor wants to make it big into Bollywood. I am working on my way towards it with dedication. I would want to work on projects that are meaningful and challenging.” We wonder if the actor has any dream roles he would want to portray. He shares, “I don’t have any dream roles as such. I believe in giving every role I portray the best I have to offer. And every actor has a unique style of portraying a character. And while plays that character he becomes one with it. It does transform you in ways that are subtle yet impactful. I believe in experimenting and constantly challenging myself as an actor. I am looking forward to portraying a variety- be it an optimistic role or a character with grey shades.” Stating his success mantra for life, he shares, “I would just say stay calm and do what you want. There is no shortcut to success. Don’t rush or jump into decisions. Give everything you do more than a 100% and you will succeed.” As he bids adieu, he has a special message for all his viewers, “It is your love and adulation that motivates me to keep doing better. Keep showering me with your support and appreciation. You guys stay connected with me through social media but it is difficult for at times to connect to each of you personally. Nevertheless, I love you guys and your blessings mean a lot. Keep smiling!” Tellychakkar.com wishes Zohaib all the best!
