I hope I can make people laugh as much as I can make them cry - Alok Nath

Alok Nath
At the drop of a pin, one would guess television and Bollywood’s stereotypical Indian father who values religion and morality! Any guesses? We are talking about veteran actor Alok Nath, who has suddenly risen to become an online superstar, the ‘sanskaari Babuji’ on Twitter. The actor is now back with a bang with his first association with SAB TV, and will now be seen entertaining the audience with his aashirwad giving gimmick in the channel’s upcoming offering Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai by Frames Productions. Talking about his role in the show, the actor stated, “I am overwhelmed to be a part of the SAB TV family. It has been three decades that I have been detached from theatre. When I was briefed about the show where I would have to perform something and entertain the audience on a lighter vein, I said why not? I feel a belonging towards theatre and since I am at the fag-end of my career, this is the best show through which I can reach back to my roots as there is a lot of theatrics involved.” “I would be essaying the role I am best known for, Babuji and would be seen frequently on the show,” he added. While interacting about the transition of television that he has witnessed in his decade long career, Alok Nath mentioned how television has now become a wizard of today’s entertainment mechanisms. He also mentioned of how he is the oldest person yet actively performing and entertaining the television audience and is proud of the love and affection people have for him. He elaborated, “Even while the sanskari jokes flooded the social networking medium, I was amused and surprised of how people suddenly came up with the idea. I was not comfortable at first but then I took it all in good spirits. I could not stop laughing when I read the tweet, ‘Babuji ka cooker itna sanskari hai ki who sitti nahi marta’.” On his SAB TV show, the man stated, “With my latest endeavor where I would be seen in a completely different avatar more like a debutant into comedy, I hope for more applause and wish that I can make people laugh as much as I can make them cry in fiction shows and films.” Whether it is the small or big screen, you are the one and only ultimate father of the industry and we are sure you will rock it here as well!!
