Rakhi Sawant’s political jhatkas and matkas failed to arouse (pun unintended) any political storm in Mumbai unlike her stint in the world of entertainment. According to reports last received, the former item girl managed a measly number of just 15 votes from her constituency. Overjoyed Rakhi critics immediately panned her on Twitter and other social networking platform by ridiculing and cracking jokes about her failed political sojourn. But the feisty lady herself remains nonchalant about losing out. We rang up Rakhi immediately after the poll results were declared to get her first reaction. A cool and composed Rakhi graciously accepted her defeat and did a U-turn by praising His Holiness Narendra Modi for his massive landslide victory. It may well be remembered that Rakhi had famously denied commenting on Modi in her pre-poll interview with us. But not this time. “I am very happy with my poll results, “said Rakhi and added, “I know I have lost but I am more than happy that Narendra Modi has won. I am very very happy,” exclaimed an overjoyed Rakhi. The actress-politician sounded unsure about her total vote tally but didn’t appear even a tad upset about losing out badly in her constituency. “Talking about Mumbai, I am happy that my elder brother Uddhav Thackeray has won. I couldn’t have asked for more.” The defeat of other big leaders of our country proved to be of much consolation for Rakhi. “This election was like a rehearsal for me. Big leaders of our country have been trounced. I am just a newcomer. All the votes that I have received even if lesser in number are honest votes. They have not been purchased by paying bribes. So I am happy with my performance, “shared Rakhi and added that she is here to stay. Good to see that Rakhi is not a sore loser unlike some of our other experienced leaders.
