A page from the personal diary of Shritama Mukherjee Hello readers… hope you remember me. I am Shritama Mukherjee who made her television debut in Sony Entertainment Television’s Dekha Ek Khwaab as Rajkumari Jainandini. I was born and raised in Kota, Rajasthan where my parents and younger brother reside. But, I stay alone here in Mumbai and I love my stay in the metropolis. Since I have all along been in Kota, I sincerely miss my school life and my family and there’s always a sense of nostalgia. In Kota, I completed my schooling from Sophia Girls High School where I always participated in cultural activities especially in singing and dancing. I was good in academics too. When I was in the 8th standard, I was part of the Close up Antakshari show. Since my first priority was always electronic media, I left my studies after 12th standard to make my career in television. Since my mom knew about my ambitions, she was very supportive of me. But, all along, dad wanted me to become a doctor and didn’t want me to come over to Mumbai and be a struggler. Since I had contacts in television, I caught hold of a co-coordinator who told me about Sony TV’s upcoming show. I came down to Mumbai and auditioned for it. And, to my surprise, the very next day I got a call from the production house informing me that I had been selected for Dekha Ek Khwaab. I was really glad to be part of the show and by God’s grace it was easy-going for me. I consider myself very lucky that I didn’t have to struggle much. On the personal front, I am a very shy kind of a person; I take time to open up and don’t make friends easily. I hate late night parties. For my leisure, I like to dance and sing. In fact, I am a trained classical singer and to top it all, singing adds zing to my life. It’s a kind of stress-buster for me. My best moment of life was when I got selected for the role in Dekha Ek Khwaab. It was a life-changing moment for me to share screen space with veteran Aruna Irani. Lastly, I thank everyone for liking me. Soon, you will see me back on television. Till then, take care and have a rocking life.
