I want fans to accept me as Sumedh's successor: Ankit Arora

Ankit Arora

The good looking, young man is the latest entrant in the lot of the super villains on small screen. Yes, we are talking about Razia Sultan fame actor Ankit Arora, who is currently enjoying his stint in Colors’ historical drama Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (Contiloe).

The man, who has worked very hard to make his character quite convincing for the audiences is all praises about his predecessor Sumedh Mudgalkar, who used to play the young antagonist Sushim in the series.

Ask Ankit if it is a pressure for him or not to match up to Sumedh’s level, with a smile, he replies, “It is indeed a challenge for me to carry on with Sumedh’s legacy. The young lad has done a marvellous job and that is the reason why audiences still want to watch Sumedh and Siddharth on screen even now. Sumedh’s popularity is one reason that I don’t want to introduce my own inputs in the character. My audience is used to watching the character with certain mannerism and behaviour; hence I want them to first accept me as Sumedh’s successor. Once they do that, may be then I will think of modifying it in my own way.”

Although the show has many stars like Mohit Raina, Saumya Seth, Pallavi Subhash being present in the show, Ankit never fears of being overshadowed. “The beauty of the series Ashoka is that every character has been drawn with a unique flavour. Moreover, I whole heartedly believe that if you put all your efforts in your work then it will get noticed. There are many instances when the stars failed to perform well. Hence, I don’t get scared with such thoughts as I know that my character is a very powerful one and I am doing my job.”

Much like his on screen character Ankit is also very close to his mother as well as his father. In a candid way he explains him to be a 'parents boy' rather than being called as a mama’s boy.

Quite focused about his career, Ankit is not considering much about his personal life right now. Ask him about dating and marriage, Ankit says, “Abhi tak socha hi nahi (Haven’t given a thought to it yet). Currently it’s all about doing good work.”

Well said Ankit. We hope that you continue with your stunning performances.
