Talented and adorable Kanchi Singh has been in the headlines for having found love in her on-screen brother, Rohan Mehra!! There have also been reports of the youngsters’ tracks being sidelined in Star Plus and Director’s Kut Productions’ long-running show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain, owing to their off-screen bonding. However, contrary to what has been written, this is exactly the time when Kanchi who plays Gayu’s character in the show will be shown more... Refuting all rumours, Kanchi got into a clear conversation with Tellychakkar.com. “Our show (Yeh Rishta) is popular, so there will be many people talking about something that is unwanted. In fact, I will want to make it very clear that my character is now established, and I will have good and engrossing full-fledged tracks on. So where does the question of being side-lined arise? These are all rumours, and we as actors know how to behave professionally in our work environment.” Talking about the growth in her character, the girl told us, “I am getting an amazing response and I am really happy. I am glad to be part of such a wonderful show. And to work with Rajan Sir again is a nice feeling.” For Kanchi, playing the character of Gayu is challenging, as her on-screen character is nowhere related to her real self. “Gayu is very independent and mature. She’s a very understanding girl and just because she does not have her parents, she is pampered by all. Even though she comes across as someone very mature, she still has the chirpy attitude in her. And that’s what I like in the character.” Kanchi’s character took sometime to blossom in the popular show. However, Kanchi feels that the wait is over, and it is time for action now. “Things take bit of time to happen. And Yeh Rishta is a hugely watched show, with lot many popular characters. The screenplay has to be fare for everyone. So the wait is justified. I have enjoyed the positivity on the set, and love being with the entire unit.” Talking about her seniors at work, the girl averred, “Hina is such a beautiful and talented actress. There is so much to learn from her. She’s so dedicated towards her work. I do miss Karan Sir (Mehra) on the set. He was such a sweet person to work with.” Last but not the least, addressing her God Father at work Rajan Shahi, Kanchi exclaimed, “I am greatful to Rajan Sir for believing in me. Now it is my turn to give him the best. I simply cannot let him down, and will do my best.” Again, rubbishing all the rumours, she stated, “Nothing of this sort has ever affected me. For all those who feel my role has been sidelined, I will like to say that Gayu will be seen more now (laughs). It’s time for some serious work.” Lastly, when we asked about her having a rosy affair with co-actor Rohan Mehra, Kanchi said, “I don’t want to comment on this.” We understand.. Best of luck, Kanchi!!
