Today, Devoleena Bhattacharjee aka Gopi of Saath Nibhana Saathiya (Rashmi Sharma Telefilms) is a name to reckon with in the Indian television industry.

A powerful performer, Devoleena has come of age, emerging as one of the leading ladies in the entertainment space.

“Thanks to all our viewers who continue their love and support. As for my look, I am sure my character is envy to all as it continues to look young even after two leaps (laughs). I must thank my creatives and producers for this,” said the pretty Devoleena.

With the jump, there has been no chance for fans rejoicing moments of romance between Gopi and Ahem (Mohammad Nazim). When asked about this, the actor shared, “That has been the scenario since quite some time now. We haven’t had a chance to romance for long. There has only been fighting between the two. But daily shows definitely don’t disappoint fans, so am sure viewers will get to see the two coming together soon.”

Having played a bhartiya naari all these while, what is the next role that she would be eyeing? “Oh I want to really try a modern age character next. As an actor there is hunger to perform various emotions. From a vampish one to something homourous, I want to try my hands with all kinds of shades,” shared Devoleena.

And finally when we quizzed her on whether she is open to donning a bikini on screen, the actress giggled to say. “No baba never. I don’t think I have a figure to wear a bikini and neither am I open for it. I think we Indians are still not comfortable seeing actors making out or wearing bikini on daily soaps. With families still watching TV together, it is a long way to go before we see that happening.”
