Annie Gill
You have previously seen Annie Gill in Zor ka Jhatka and Friendship Baazi. The show that has however been a turning point in her career has been her current show Anamika (Producers: Mahesh Pandey and Vikas Seth) on Sony TV. The pretty actress fully agrees, “This show has surely brought about a great change in my life. It has helped me to improve as an actor and has given me a lot of creative satisfaction. In fact it gives me a high to do this serial. The script is good. Anamika has made me very feminine and has brought about a smile to my face. My performance has been appreciated by the viewers.” Why are shows on supernaturalism on the rise? Annie replies, “This is because there is a growing audience for shows like these. Indian television is experimenting. If the execution is good and the audience can connect, the show goes on to be a hit.” Does she believe in ghosts and chudails (witches)? The actress states, “I believe in a divine and universal power running in my life. If there is good, there must be evil too.” This pretty actress loves watching horror and thriller movies and books. “I love the books of Steig Larsson and James Patterson. I loved the movies The Orphanage, Ghost, The Awakening and The Happening.” Speaking on the underwater scene in which she meets her death in a watery grave she says, “I was under water for eight hours with two camera men. When I emerged from water everything looked blurred. When I saw the footage I felt that the underwater shooting was worth it.” While enacting the scenes which scare the viewers, Annie Gill and her co-workers often break into laughter. “We take ten to fifteen minutes of laughing breaks in between. While I was doing the scenes in which I turn crazy Mohit had jokingly told me that if his wife behaved like that he would throw her out.” We posed a fun question to her. How would she react if a chudail really created havoc in her life? She promptly replies, “I would have killed myself instead of seeing my loved ones suffer.” What kind of roles would she never do? “I will never play an aged lady as I don’t want to look old on screen.” What will her dream role be like? “I would die to play the role of Emily Rose in the film The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I would also like to play Evelyn Salt in the movie Salt- the stunts by Angelina Jolie who played Evelyn were great in the movie.” The actress informs us that the fan response for this role has been awesome. “Fans sms me or send messages through Facebook as to where Rano shouldn’t go so that she can be safe. They incessantly sms me their feedback on the scenes. They were in fact getting paranoid that Rano will die.” Now, their worst fear has come true. Rano is no more.
