Actor Vipul Deshpande, a Mechanical Engineer turned actor is presently portraying the role of the cop, Inspector Sawant in Star Plus’ Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara (Rajshri Productions). The guy who is basically a six footer left a pay package of nearly 20 lakhs in order to become an actor. Today he is a satisfied man, as he is doing what he likes to do. Talking about it, Vipul says, “I have earlier worked with Hypercity, Videocon and Birla Group at the middle management level. However, I saw a good future for myself in acting. Since my passion lied in acting, I wanted to pursue it. Also, I have a strong theatre background from Pune and Nagpur, and knew I would fit into the roles I get with ease. And thus began my journey in the field of entertainment.” Vipul has played the lead in episodics of Adaalat and has shared screen space with Ronit Roy earlier. He has also been part of nearly 10 episodics of Crime Patrol. He has done key roles in few Marathi movies with senior actors Vikram Gokhale and Bharat Jadhav. In Pyaar Ka Dard, he is seen as the main cop investigating the kidnap case of Ayesha right now. On his stint in Pyaar Ka Dard, the actor states, “It is a great learning curve to work with Rajshri Productions. This is a continuity role, and I am enjoying it. Prsently we are shooting for some high-intensity chase sequences, and the whole experience is exciting to me. I am thankful to Star Plus and Rajshri Productions for giving me this pivotal role. Also, Pyaar Ka Dard has a good mix of experienced actors, and working with them has been a real pleasure. Of course, the youngsters too are great to work with.” The actor looks for challenging roles that would fit his personality.
