It’s scary to see that the TV industry has no management process: Ashish Kapoor

Talented actor Ashish Kapoor, who is still remembered for his role in Saath Phere, is a worried man. And the cause of his agony is the way the TV industry functions these days. Reveals the actor, “We all know that there is no security for an actor, but the way today’s shows are created and bunked off, it is scary. Looks like, there is no management at all. Here in the industry, everyone comes with a dream to make it big, but how long will they take to attain success? With so many actors hoping to make it big in TV these days and only a few shows getting the needed revenue, the future of most shows are left looming.” Ashish also points out that the association of senior actors has no regulation and hardly maintains unity. “Look at the way the international TV industry functions; the actors are approached only through their managers who thrash out all the deals on their behalf. We actors are emotional and sometime tend to flow with our emotions or just overlook the same, taking some important decisions in monetary issues and other facets in a hurry. We need to get a hold on these things,” he adds. The actor also says since the issues of finance are the biggest problems, every actor should always think of the future. The easiest way, the actor feels to go about such situations is to get their money invested in an alternate business that can provide a fixed earning. “I have seen people going the wrong way to sustain their lifestyle and it hurts not just as an artiste, but also as a human being to see such happenings,” he observes. “Another problem is the way coordinators function these days. Even if a casting director wants to cast an actor, coordinators come in between and demand commission from us. How long can we go on giving our hard-earned money?” the actor questions. Ashish has decided to figure out a solution. “People like you, in the media should help in highlighting the dark side of the industry too; it’s not just about glamour,” he tell us. He also suggests newcomers to be on the right track and work hard. “They also need to be rooted and never forget that success in the entertainment industry is momentarily,” he advises. We agree with you Ashish and feel it’s high time things got cleaner with our industry.
