Jennifer invites her friends from Gokuldham for her Godh Bharai

When TV actors say that the cast and crew of their show has been like second family to them, they aren’t parroting those lines. Indeed they mean every word of it. After all it is quite natural that those you spend around 12 hours of the day with become like your second family. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal who was playing Mrs Roshan Sodhi in SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (Neela Telefilms) invited her women friends from her former show for her godh bharai (baby shower) ceremony which she recently held at her home. The actress is seven months pregnant with her first baby. Jennifer said, “I organised this godh bharai only for the Gokuldham Society ladies. I am a Parsi who is married to Hindu. I asked my former colleagues about the baby shower. They came over to my house to attend my godh bharai. It was a very nice moment for me. When I was in Taarak Mehta they were my constant companions but since I have left the show, it’s been a forced distance. Despite their busy shoot schedule, when they agreed to come I was so happy. Munmun Dutta did my hair and Disha Vakani taught me how to sit and walk. When I saw Ambika Ranjankar, I was almost cried. On the set of the show we did plenty of fun things together. We had thought about dancing and singing but when we met there was so much to catch up on that we ended up simply talking and eating. I am expecting my baby in August. Even my producer Asit Modi and his wife Neela ji regularly call and enquire about my health.” It seems that the women folk of the fictitious Gokuldham Cooperative Housing Society are like caring neighbours in real life too. Actually they are more than that, they are not just close friends but like close-knit family members.
