Piyush Sahdev who essays the stylish Kabir in Zee TV’s Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke feels that he has finally got a role that suits his looks to the ‘T’. Says the actor, “I have enacted all the serious roles of a police officer, an army personnel etc but I have never been given a typical romantic and stylized role. I am enjoying playing Kabir in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke. This show has in fact taken me a step further in proving my acting credentials. Kabir is a typical Mills and Boons guy who has a dashing look, but is yet arrogant and is a tough nut to crack.” Piyush who is paired opposite the young Mahima Makwana aka Rachana in the show is elated at this unusual pairing that this Shakuntalam Telefilms show has in offer. “In Hum Ne Li Hai Shapath, I had a love track with a lady who was actually my mother’s friend. And now, I enact a role wherein I fall in love with a girl half my age. So this is a challenge in itself,” states Piyush. Ask him about the stiff competition that he faces with fans wanting the return of Vihaan (Nikhhil Chaddha) as Rachana’s love interest and he categorically explains, “Well, I really do not know about Vihaan’s return. However, I have got a great response for my character and people really like it. Yes, Vihaan was indeed liked and loved by all. I have heard that even the character of Rajeev, essayed by Zohaib (Siddiqui) had a good fan following. I don’t take these comparisons to heart; I am a hard-working actor and will give in my best.” Piyush who was earlier part of Life OK’s Devon Ke Dev.. Mahadev as Lord Ram is happy that he has been blessed with some back-to-back challenging roles. “I had a great time being part of Shapath, after which Mahadev happened. Now I have got this role of Kabir, and I feel I am blessed to get quick work.” The actor is happy as the entire cast and crew of Sapne Suhane is very warm. “All are very supportive and co-operative. Mahima, though young in age is very mature and professional to the core. She knows what she is doing and I share a good rapport with her.” Piyush sees a great tutor in veteran actress Joyshree Arora who essays his dadi in the show. “She is a talent in herself. She has an acting institute and has so much to give; I get to learn quite a lot from her on a regular basis.” Piyush who is married to actress Akangsha Rawat (Solhah Singarr, Palampur Express to name a few) now looks forward for his wife to get back to TV. “She will get back soon. I have left the choice to her, and she has to decide whether she has to get back to acting or not. As of now, she is keeping herself busy with Karmic healing.” On extending their family, the actor avers, “We have a long way to go for that. I will first want Akangsha to get back to acting. She is a very good actress and has worked with many noteworthy productions houses and actors.” Piyush, we hope you get your share of popularity as Kabir.
