Kamya Punjabi, the talented and versatile actress is presently part of Colors’ out and out comedy show, Nautanki – The Comedy Theatre and is superb when it comes to entertaining everyone with her perfect comic timing. But not all know that the lady is going through a very emotional setback in her personal life at the moment. However, this does not stop her from being a thorough professional when it comes to her work.
Wondering what the reason is for Kamya’s grief? Well, we hear that her husband Bunty Negi had a major accident on 24 January 2013 when he fell from the fifth floor. Shocking, isn’t it?
Our source told us that Negi was at his friend’s apartment which is still under construction (at the wee hours of 24 January) when he fell from the balcony area which was still under construction. Negi was immediately rushed to the Hinduja Hospital and was diagnosed with multiple fractures and various major injuries.
Tellychakkar.com contacted Kamya Punjabi to wish her husband a speedy recovery and the actress stated, “Yes, it is true that my husband had a major fall. I went through a lot of emotional trauma in the last few days, but I have emerged to be a very strong person, actually stronger than my problems. And with the accident, I understood that not many people stand by you in times of grief. Yes, I had my parents with me, and Bunty’s parents were also there to give me support. All I wanted at that particular time was emotional support and a big hug from someone.”
Talking about the accident, Kamya stated, “Bunty was at his friend’s place; actually he was there for only 10 minutes as he was waiting for his driver to come. He along with his friends were chatting in the balcony area which was under construction. Unfortunately, my husband slipped and fell from the fifth floor. He immediately hit on to the wires in the 4th floor, after which he fell on the Scorpio car before landing on the ground. Since he hit the wires and Scorpio car before landing, the impact of the fall was very less and this fortunately saved him.”
An emotional Kamya went on, “His friends immediately rushed him to Hinduja Hospital.
I was actually sleeping at home, and I got to know of it only after an hour. I was shivering when I got to know that Bunty had a fall. He had multiple fractures, his hip was dislocated which needed a surgery, and he also had to go through a plastic surgery on his face. The doctors at the hospital were so good that he is completely out of danger now. After a 12 day stay at the hospital, I have finally managed to bring him home. He has to be on bed rest for the next two to three months, but there is nothing that cannot be cured. Thank God, he has no internal injuries.”
For Kamya, the few minutes of conversation with her husband gave her all the confidence. Kamya went on to explain, “Bunty never knew what was happening with him, as he was unconscious and going through surgeries for most of the time. But when he regained consciousness for few seconds, he told me to continue doing what I am doing, and that he will be alright. I think that instilled a lot of confidence in me to fight this phase out. Frankly speaking, I broke down when I heard this news because I did not know how our three years old daughter would take this setback. But she was as brave as her mother was, and she proved that she is my daughter. Though my husband still needs all the medical attention, I have brought him home because I know he will recover faster at home. His daughter will heal him out of this phase.”
Kamya who is a thorough professional had to shoot for the Colors show Nautanki - The Comedy Theatre on 25 January 2013.. And would you believe her professionalism? After going through the major shock the night before, she still managed to shoot the next day. “Yes, I reported for my shoot on the morning of 25 January and shot for Nautanki where I had to laugh my heart out. I could not give it a miss at the last minute, isn’t it?.”
So will she be lying low for the next few months because of her husband’s health condition? Kamya said, “Yes, I am continuing with Nautanki and will complete it as it is a commitment that I had taken up earlier. And for new projects, I will take it a bit easy as I have to concentrate on my husband now. We have to together fight this and come out of this. It is a long road ahead, but we have overcome the worst and I am thankful to God for this.”
Kamya, we salute the confidence and will power in you!! We pray for your husband’s speedy recovery.
