After a gap of one and a half years, veteran actress Kunickaa Sadanand is all set to make a comeback to the small screen with an episodic in Life OK’s Savdhan India (Saregama India Ltd). This real life crime tale based series is now getting her back in which Kunickaa will be playing a very important role. When we contacted her she confirmed and said, “Yes, this is my first episodic of Savdhan. I took up the show as this concept based on the flesh trade is something that the people out there should be aware of.” Why did she stay away from TV for more than a year? “Since I did not want to be a part of a 25-day TV schedule, I moved out of it. But I am back now and will be giving 10 to 12 days if good stories come my way. Apart from this, I am concentrating on getting back to films. It’s been five years since I shot for my last film,” confessed the artiste. Interestingly, she will be seen playing a cameo role in her Brother Kabir Sadanand’s upcoming flick Pagli. Now moving on to the other casting for the episodic, Atishri will essay the role of a girl whose journey would start from a retail shop but culminate in the sordid flesh trade market. Atishri will also feature in the movie Happy New Year, where she will be seen playing the female protagonist opposite Vivaan Shah (son of Naseeruddin Shah). Talking about her stint in Savdhan, Atishri shared with Tellychakkar.com, “Yes, it’s her journey from being a store help, to a bar attendant, to a prostitute. It’s a very challenging role to play.” Furthermore, actor Abhay Shankar Jha of Gupshup Coffee Shop fame will be seen as Atishri’s on-screen husband. “This is a negative role. In fact I’ve done somewhere around nine episodics for Savdhan,” revealed Abhay. The shooting for the same has already begun and it will air sometime soon. Keep reading this space for more updates.
