We have heard cases where “supposed” couples have teamed up for Star Plus jodi dance reality show Nach Baliye. Just a while back there was similar noise about Devoleena Bhattacharjee and her Saath Nibhana Saathiya co-star Vishal Singh trying to hook up to become participants in the show. Now a khabru whispered a nugget of info into our ears saying that Kushal Punjabi, last seen as a super villain in Life OK’s crime show Shapath, too has been approaching single girls in the industry for a false link up to get into Nach Baliye. However, when we called up Kushal who has won many reality shows (Fear Factor, Mr. & Miss TV, Paisa Bhari Padega, Nautica Navigators Challenge, Ek Se Badhkar Ek and Zor Ka Jhatka) says, “I was approached by the Nach team, but had to turn down the offer for I am single.” He also rejected the rumour that he had spoken to any actress for a false baliye. “That is against the rules period,” he said. Talking about the concept of Nach Baliye he says, “I jokingly suggested to the creatives to change it to include friends as well. See if you are married it is out in open, but if you are in relationship it is open to suggestion for you can hide it if you wish.” In closing, Kushal who is himself a good dancer says as far as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is concerned he would want his friend Drashti Dhami to win for she has really grown as a dancer. “We have worked together in Antariksh (Star Plus) and then I had seen she was just an okay dancer. I had told her back then never take part in any dance reality show but now look at her performances, they are so good.” However, Kushal does adds a caveat and says, “ If you talk about performances only, then Lauren Gottlieb and the kids Sonali and Sumant win hands down. They are too good in their respective styles. While I bat for the show the only issue I have is that you pit professional dancers against non dancers.”
