Ashmit Patel and Maheck Chahal, who are seeing each other for the past three months, surprised everyone when they announced their participation on Sony TV's Power Couple, making their relationship official in a way. On being asked why they chose this show, the couple shared, “We took up this show because of the amazing adventures in the series. It is a very positive show. We have done reality so it’s not that we are scared of reality shows. I think in India, this is the first time it’s a positive and feel good show. Normally, reality shows are negative. Hats off to Sony for presenting this show about love.” Your relationship was a shock-cum-surprise for the audience, so what do you have to say about it? “We have known each other for the past twelve years and we have common friends too. We often meet at parties, but never had any deep conversations. But we workout in the same gym, so one day, I asked Meheck whether I could drop her. On the way, we had bhuta and went for a walk too. We were in our sweaty and smelly gym attire, but this was our first date,” shared Ashmit. So who made the first move? Meheck quipped, “There was never any proposal. It was just understanding between us. I know his personality so I feel he is more handsome and attractive. I fall in love with him every day. Through this show, we have took a step forward in our relationship.” Are you guys ok with PDA moments? (Kissing Meheck’s forehead) Ashmit shared, “Yes, of course. Affection is positive. As I said, reality shows are all about negativity. Make love not war. People don’t have any issues with war and negative things, but as soon as there is love, people get offensive. Obviously, you can’t go overboard. You are not doing anything wrong. It is something positive. Ladai and Jhagda should be banned.” With which couple do you bond well on the show? Meheck said, “Sanjeeda- Aamir & Delnaaz -Percy. Some bonds are stronger but everyone shares a great friendship on the show.” Lastly, what do you have to say about your host? “They are the best hosts and I think Arbaaz bhai will give a strong competition to Salman Khan,” signed off the duo.
