MUMBAI: She is dynamic, vivacious, and full of energy!

We are talking about the pretty Vaishnavi Rao, who is currently seen in Star Plus’ most popular show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Currently essaying the role of Mansi, who just got married in the show, Vaishnavi has been working from the age of seven. She has done shows of the likes of Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage, Bhagyavidhata, Dill Mill Gayye, Shh... Phir Koi Hai, Beyhadh, and Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, in addition to episodic shows.

TellyChakkar had an exclusive chat with Vaishnavi today, in which she talks about her character and her bond with co-stars Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi.

Vaishnavi says, ‘I am overwhelmed with the kind of response I have been receiving for my character. People not only love me as Mansi but also appreciate my chemistry with Mohsin in the show. They are in love with the sibling bond we share. Mansi is an important character, as it is because of her wedding that Kartik and Naira both came face to face. But she is hurt to see their relationship going sour. Kartik and Naira’s love was her inspiration and it is because of this that she decided to get married. She does everything in her power to bring the two together, but unfortunately, she hasn’t succeeded.’

The actress also mentioned that she is in awe of the teamwork of the ensemble cast.

She averred, ‘I have not got a chance to follow the show before joining, but after shooting with the cast, the one thing I have realised is that the team is very close knit. It is very important to have teamwork to make a show run for so many years. From the smallest thing that everyone comes on time, a rare phenomenon, to shooting together, everybody is very cooperative and understanding. I wanted to work with Director’s Kut from a long time and I finally got an opportunity.’

Talking about the bond she shares with Moshin and Shivangi, Vaishnavi shared, ‘Mohsin bhai has a sister too and he treats me like his child. We bring out the sibling bond quite well. With regard to Shivangi, I got to know her recently and she is a wonderful soul. We made a musical.ly video too and it has gone viral on social media. We get along very well.’

When asked about the kind of characters she would love to play, she quipped, ‘I thoroughly enjoyed playing my character in Akbar and I would love to portray a historical character once more. Not everybody can pull of a historical character because of the character and the language but that is a challenge and I’d love to do it. Apart from Yeh Rishta..., I am also doing a web series as I love that genre of work and it is more of my age. I also have a short film lined up titled Harmless, which is different and more realistic.’
